Description
Stamped EmpirE and Made in England, this particular piece is likely an early version of the Pompadour pattern and is heavily decorated in gold detailing. This piece was carefully stored by a collector who likely acquired this piece by 1960, and it could date as early as 1940. There is some crazing on the bottom of the saucer, and the bottom of the teacup is double stamped. The cup is stamped 140 and the saucer stamped 1239. Standard sized, the teacup is 3.5″ diameter and the saucer is 5.75″.
